The Empire State Building

my fifth floor walk-up
When I moved in to my fifth floor walk-up apartment a couple of months ago, it took me about twenty seemingly never ending trips to get all my crap up. That’s a hundred floors climbed – or in New York City math, one time up (and back down) the Empire State Building. Thinking about that, I wondered how many times I’d climb those stairs in a year. Taking into account days I’m not home at all I average about three trips up and down between street level and my “penthouse” apartment. Multiply that by 365 equals 5475 flights of stairs climbed in a year. Divide that by a hundred and I will climb the Empire State Building 54.75 time this year. Just saying.
